We are seeking a detail-oriented Agriculture Supervisor to support field-level agricultural operations, oversee implementation of crop and farm management practices, and ensure compliance with applicable guidelines and quality standards. This role involves coordinating with farmers/field staff, monitoring progress against targets, maintaining records, and supporting awareness/training activities to improve productivity and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day agricultural field activities and ensure timely execution of planned operations (sowing, irrigation, nutrient management, pest control, harvesting).
- Conduct field visits to monitor crop health, identify issues (pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies), and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate and guide field teams, extension workers, and stakeholders to meet program or seasonal targets.
- Maintain accurate records of field observations, inputs usage, acreage coverage, yield estimates, and progress reports.
- Support implementation of best practices in soil health management, water conservation, and integrated pest management (IPM).
- Assist in planning and delivery of farmer trainings, demonstrations, and awareness sessions on improved agronomic practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality guidelines during field operations.
- Coordinate with procurement/logistics teams for timely availability and distribution of seeds, fertilizers, and other inputs as required.
- Prepare periodic summaries and reports for management, including observations, risks, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Working knowledge of crop production practices, soil and water management, and common pests/diseases.
- Ability to read and interpret basic agricultural data and maintain structured field documentation.
- Strong communication skills to engage with farmers, field staff, and local stakeholders.
- Comfortable with extensive fieldwork and travel across assigned areas.
- Basic computer skills (spreadsheets, reporting tools) are preferred.
- Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under timelines during peak agricultural seasons.
