About the Role
As an SSC Junior Engineer (JE), you may be posted across central government departments and organizations to support engineering execution, quality assurance, project supervision, and maintenance in your discipline (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical). Final allocation depends on merit, category, discipline, vacancies, and the preferences submitted through the Option Form.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, execution, and supervision of engineering works/projects.
- Support site inspections, measurements, and preparation/verification of technical documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, field teams, and departmental stakeholders for timely delivery.
- Ensure adherence to relevant standards, safety practices, and quality requirements.
- Contribute to maintenance, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting (as applicable to the department and discipline).
- Prepare reports, estimates, and records as per departmental procedures.
Requirements
- Eligibility and qualification as per SSC JE 2024 notification for the relevant discipline and department.
- Typical qualifications include Diploma in Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) and/or BE/B.Tech in the relevant field.
- Some departments may require 2 years of experience with a diploma (as per department-specific criteria).
- Ability to work in field conditions and travel as required by the posting.
- Basic proficiency in documentation, measurements, and standard engineering practices.
