Position: Assistant Town Planner (ATP)
Organization: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC)
Overview: BPSC is seeking qualified professionals in town/urban and regional planning disciplines for the role of Assistant Town Planner (ATP). This position supports planning initiatives through technical analysis, development planning inputs, and coordination with relevant stakeholders to contribute to sustainable urban and regional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support preparation, review, and implementation of urban and regional development plans, including master plans, zoning proposals, and sectoral plans.
- Conduct planning studies and technical assessments related to land use, housing, transport, environment, and infrastructure.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and presentation (maps, reports, and planning notes) to support decision-making.
- Coordinate with government departments, local bodies, and other stakeholders for planning inputs and compliance requirements.
- Review proposals and planning submissions for alignment with applicable planning standards, policies, and regulations.
- Contribute to documentation, file processing, and preparation of drafts/notes for official communications and approvals.
- Support monitoring and evaluation of planning initiatives and provide periodic progress updates as required.
Requirements
- Education: Postgraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) from a recognized University/Institution in one of the following: Town Planning, Regional Planning, Urban Planning, City Planning, Country Planning, Transport Planning, Housing, or Environmental Planning.
- Age Limits (as per reference date in notification):
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 37 years (Male)
- Maximum: 40 years (Female UR; BC/EBC Male & Female)
- Maximum: 42 years (SC/ST Male & Female)
- Ability to interpret planning policies and apply structured analytical thinking to planning problems.
- Strong written communication skills for drafting notes, reports, and official documentation.
- Comfort working with multi-stakeholder teams and meeting timelines.
