Role Overview
As a Stenographer, you will support departmental operations by accurately recording dictation, preparing official documents, and maintaining confidentiality while working in a fast-paced government office environment. This role requires strong Hindi stenography and typing proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time-sensitive documentation.
Responsibilities
- Take accurate dictation in Hindi and transcribe it into error-free documents within required timelines.
- Perform Hindi typing and prepare official correspondence, notes, drafts, and reports.
- Maintain and organize files, registers, and records (physical and/or digital) as per office procedures.
- Support routine administrative tasks such as formatting documents, preparing meeting notes, and coordinating schedules.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality of official records.
- Assist in document verification and other administrative processes as required by the department.
- Follow government documentation standards and ensure compliance with applicable office rules.
Requirements
- Must have a valid UPSSSC PET 2023 Score Card (as applicable for shortlisting).
- Educational qualification: 10+2 (Intermediate) passed from a recognized board.
- Hindi stenography speed: 80 WPM.
- Hindi typing speed: 25 WPM.
- Computer proficiency: NIELIT CCC (or equivalent as accepted in the official notification).
- Age limit (as per cutoff date 01.07.2024): Minimum 18 years, Maximum 40 years (age relaxation as per UPSSSC rules).
- Strong accuracy, grammar, formatting skills, and ability to work under time constraints.
