The Architectural Cum Planning Assistant supports architectural and planning functions across government projects. This role involves assisting in preparing drawings, layouts, planning documentation, and coordinating technical inputs to ensure projects meet applicable standards, regulations, and functional requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing architectural drawings, plans, layouts, and related documentation for public works and planning assignments.
  • Support planning activities such as site layout planning, space planning, and basic urban/area planning documentation as required.
  • Compile and maintain project files, drawings, approvals, and technical records.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, consultants, and field teams to collect site data and technical inputs.
  • Support the preparation of reports, estimates, notes, and presentations for review by senior officers.
  • Help ensure drawings and documents align with applicable government standards, codes, and departmental guidelines.
  • Participate in site visits and assist with measurement, verification, and progress documentation.
  • Provide administrative and technical assistance during reviews, inspections, and coordination meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 21 years (as on 01 July 2024)
  • Maximum Age: 40 years (as on 01 July 2024); age relaxation as per UPPSC/government rules.
  • Educational Qualification (any one of the following):
    • Diploma in Architecture from an architectural institution recognized by the Government; OR
    • Intermediate Certificate in Architecture (three years full-time or four years part-time) of Government of Maharashtra, followed by three years of practical experience; OR
    • Diploma in Architectural Assistantship (three years full-time) of the State Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh (or any other State), followed by four years of practical experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and planning documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Comfort working with deadlines and multi-stakeholder coordination in a public-sector environment.
