Position: Lecturer (Mining Engineering)

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lecturer in Mining Engineering to deliver high-quality teaching and support academic development in undergraduate and/or diploma-level mining engineering programs. The ideal candidate will combine strong subject-matter expertise with a passion for teaching, student mentoring, and continuous improvement in academic delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Mining Engineering and allied subjects.
  • Develop course outlines, lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Set question papers, conduct examinations, evaluate answer scripts, and maintain accurate academic records.
  • Guide and mentor students in academic progress, projects, field visits, and professional development.
  • Support laboratory/workshop activities, including safety procedures and standard operating practices relevant to mining engineering.
  • Participate in departmental activities such as curriculum development, academic committees, and quality assurance processes.
  • Encourage industry-relevant learning through seminars, guest lectures, site exposure, and applied problem-solving.
  • Maintain compliance with institutional policies, academic calendars, and documentation requirements.

Requirements

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech or B.Sc. (Engineering) in Mining Engineering / Mining Technology with First Class or equivalent.
  • Age: Minimum 21 years (as per applicable recruitment rules); age relaxation may apply as per regulations.
  • Strong understanding of core mining engineering areas such as mine planning, drilling & blasting, rock mechanics, mine ventilation, mine safety, and mineral processing (as applicable to the curriculum).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Basic proficiency with digital teaching tools, academic documentation, and online learning platforms is preferred.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, student-centered teaching, and continuous professional development.
