The Intelligence Bureau (IB) invites applications for the post of Security Assistant (Motor Transport). This role combines safe, disciplined driving with basic vehicle upkeep and operational support duties. The position is suited for candidates with a valid LMV license, hands-on driving experience, and basic motor-mechanics knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Drive assigned motor vehicles safely and responsibly for official duties.
- Ensure timely movement of personnel/material as per operational requirements.
- Perform routine vehicle checks (fuel, oil, coolant, tyre pressure, lights, brakes) and maintain readiness.
- Identify and address minor mechanical issues and coordinate for repairs when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle.
- Maintain driving logs, duty registers, and related documentation as instructed.
- Follow official protocols, confidentiality requirements, and safety guidelines.
- Support office/field duties as assigned by the reporting authority.
Requirements
- Education: Matriculation / 10th pass from a recognized board.
- Driving License: Valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license issued by a competent authority.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of driving experience with a motor car after obtaining the license.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of motor mechanics and ability to rectify minor vehicle faults.
- Residency: Valid domicile certificate of the state/UT applied for (as applicable to recruitment rules).
- Age Limit (as on 28 September 2025):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 27 years (UR/EWS)
- Maximum: 30 years (OBC)
- Maximum: 32 years (SC/ST)
- Age relaxation as per IB/MHA rules.
