Position: Assistant Engineer (AE)

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Engineer (AE) to support planning, execution, quality control, and documentation of infrastructure and public works projects. This role involves coordination with contractors, site teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with applicable standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and execution of engineering works, including site activities, measurements, and daily progress tracking.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and BOQs; support preparation of technical notes and work schedules.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with project scope, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Conduct site inspections, monitor workmanship, and ensure adherence to safety practices and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain records such as site registers, inspection reports, test reports, and measurement books (as applicable).
  • Support material approvals, sampling, and quality tests; verify quantities and assist in billing/certification processes.
  • Identify execution risks and support corrective/preventive actions in coordination with senior engineers.
  • Assist during audits, document verification, and internal reviews by providing accurate technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering (or relevant engineering discipline) from a recognized institution.
  • Basic understanding of construction/project execution, drawing interpretation, and quality control processes.
  • Familiarity with standard engineering practices, site safety norms, and documentation procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; exposure to AutoCAD and basic project tools is a plus.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work across site and office environments.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work in field conditions as required.
  • Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records.
