Responsibilities

  • Operate, drive, and maintain assigned vehicles/equipment safely (e.g., heavy motor vehicles, road rollers, excavators/dozers), where applicable.
  • Perform routine checks, basic troubleshooting, and coordinate timely maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Support field operations in remote/strategic areas, including adherence to safety, operational, and reporting protocols.
  • For technical trades (Turner/Machinist): execute workshop tasks such as machining, fitting, tool handling, measurement, and quality checks as per specifications.
  • For Draughtsman: prepare/assist with drawings, layouts, and documentation as per engineering requirements and standards.
  • For Supervisor (Administration): support administrative coordination, documentation, and unit-level processes as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate logs, registers, and documentation required for audits and compliance.
  • Follow BRO/Government procedures on discipline, safety, and medical/fitness standards.

Requirements

  • General: Indian candidates meeting post-wise eligibility; readiness to work in field conditions and remote locations.
  • Education/Trade/License (post-wise):
    • Draughtsman: 12th (Science) from a recognized board; 2-year certificate in Architecture/Draughtsmanship; for Draughtsman (Civil) NTC (2 years) plus 1 year experience.
    • Supervisor (Administration): Graduate with NCC ‘B’ certificate OR ex-Naib Subedar (General Duty) / equivalent from Navy/Air Force.
    • Turner: ITI/ITC/NCTVT/Defence Trade Certificate in Turner with 1 year experience; or equivalent defence qualification as prescribed.
    • Machinist: Matric/10th; ITI in Machinist trade; Defence Trade Certificate with 1 year experience as Machinist (where applicable).
    • Driver Mechanical Transport (OG): Matric/10th; valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license.
    • Driver Road Roller (OG): Matric/10th; HMV/Road Roller license with 6 months relevant experience.
    • Operator Excavating Machinery (OG): Matric/10th; HMV license and dozer/excavator operation license with 6 months relevant experience.
  • Fitness: Must meet physical and medical standards as per selection process.
  • Documentation: Ability to produce required certificates (education, trade, experience, license, caste/category, etc.) during verification.
