Overview: ASRB invites applications for ARS Scientist roles through the NET-2025 / ARS / SMS (T-6) / STO (T-6) examination cycle. ARS Scientists contribute to nationally relevant agricultural research programs, generating evidence-based solutions to improve productivity, sustainability, and resilience across farming systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute research projects in the relevant agricultural discipline, including experimental design, field/lab trials, and data analysis.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present outcomes in scientific and stakeholder forums.
  • Develop, evaluate, and refine technologies, practices, or recommendations that address priority agricultural challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, research institutes, and extension networks to translate research into impact.
  • Maintain accurate research documentation, datasets, and reports in line with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Support capacity building by mentoring junior staff, trainees, or students as assigned.
  • Contribute to institutional committees, project reviews, and other scientific/administrative responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Education: Relevant postgraduate qualification as prescribed in the official ASRB notification for ARS (subject-wise eligibility applies).
  • Age Limit (as per referenced cycle): Maximum 32 years as on 01/08/2025 (age relaxation as per ASRB rules).
  • Selection Process: Pre Exam, Mains Exam, Interview, and Final Selection (as applicable).
  • Strong analytical and research skills, including statistical interpretation and scientific writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of research ethics, data integrity, and good documentation practices.
