Overview: We are seeking skilled language professionals to support official translation work across government departments and offices. The role involves translating documents between Hindi and English with high accuracy, maintaining terminology consistency, and supporting drafting and language-quality standards for official communication.

Responsibilities

  • Translate official documents, correspondence, reports, manuals, notifications, and other materials between Hindi and English with accuracy and appropriate tone.
  • Ensure consistency of terminology and adherence to government/departmental language standards and style guides.
  • Review, proofread, and edit translated content for grammar, formatting, clarity, and completeness.
  • Support preparation of bilingual documents, including formatting and alignment of Hindi/English versions.
  • Maintain translation references (glossaries, terminology lists) and contribute to improving translation workflows.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to clarify source text meaning, context, and intended audience.
  • Handle time-sensitive translation tasks while maintaining quality and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Hindi or English with the other language as a compulsory subject, or Master’s degree in any subject with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory subject at graduation level.
  • Translation Qualification/Experience: Recognized translation diploma or minimum 2 years of translation experience.
  • Language Skills: Strong command of Hindi and English, including grammar, comprehension, and official/administrative writing conventions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to produce error-free output and perform thorough self-review.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Exam/Selection: Selection is based on an online CBT examination and a skill test as per SSC recruitment process.
  • Age Criteria: As per SSC rules (age limits and relaxations applicable as notified by SSC for the recruitment cycle).
