Position: Local Bank Officer (LBO)

We are seeking a customer-focused and results-driven Local Bank Officer (LBO) to support branch-level banking operations, strengthen customer relationships, and drive growth across retail banking products. This role combines frontline customer engagement with operational excellence, compliance discipline, and local market understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of retail banking customers through proactive relationship management.
  • Acquire new customers and cross-sell relevant banking products (e.g., deposits, loans, cards, digital banking services) based on needs.
  • Support day-to-day branch operations including account servicing, customer queries, and issue resolution within defined service timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to KYC/AML, customer due diligence, and internal compliance policies while onboarding and servicing customers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for loan processing, documentation, disbursals, and post-disbursal servicing.
  • Promote digital adoption by guiding customers on safe and effective use of online/mobile banking channels.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting as required by policy and regulators.
  • Participate in local marketing/outreach activities to improve brand presence and business sourcing.
  • Support verification/screening activities and cooperate with audits and inspections.
  • Communicate effectively in the local language to serve customers and support community engagement.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university/college.
  • Experience: Freshers may apply; prior experience in banking/financial services, sales, or customer service is an advantage.
  • Age: Typically 20–30 years (relaxation as per applicable rules/policy).
  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
  • Working knowledge of banking products and basic financial concepts preferred.
  • Comfortable with targets, sourcing, and field/outreach activities as required.
  • Good documentation skills and attention to detail for compliance and operational accuracy.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and comfort using banking/digital platforms.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English and the local language; local language proficiency may be assessed.
