RBI Officer (Grade A & Grade B) – Assistant Manager / Manager / Legal Officer

Position Summary
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) invites applications for specialist and officer roles under Grade A and Grade B cadres. These positions support the Bank’s regulatory, operational, security, and technical functions through policy-aligned execution, stakeholder coordination, and high standards of integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Legal Officer (Grade B): Provide legal advisory, draft/vet contracts and regulatory documents, support litigation management, interpret statutes and regulations, and ensure legal compliance across functions.
  • Manager – Technical (Civil) (Grade B): Plan, execute, and supervise civil works and infrastructure projects; ensure quality, safety, and statutory compliance; manage vendors/contractors; review technical drawings, estimates, and project schedules.
  • Manager – Technical (Electrical) (Grade B): Oversee electrical systems, power distribution, safety and maintenance; manage upgrades and energy efficiency initiatives; ensure compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards; coordinate with contractors and internal teams.
  • Assistant Manager – Rajbhasha (Grade A): Support implementation of official language policy; perform translation and drafting; coordinate bilingual documentation; manage terminology consistency; enable bilingual word processing and quality checks.
  • Assistant Manager – Protocol and Security (Grade A): Manage physical security and CCTV surveillance; administer security personnel (including outsourced staff); oversee protocol duties for senior leadership/visiting dignitaries; coordinate with government authorities; supervise premises maintenance; implement fire prevention and disaster management programs; manage budgets and compliance for security and facilities operations.

Requirements

  • General: Strong integrity and professional ethics; ability to work in a regulated environment; strong communication and documentation skills; readiness to support time-sensitive institutional priorities.
  • Legal Officer (Grade B): Bachelor’s degree in Law (minimum 50% marks; 45% for SC/ST/PwBD against reserved vacancies), recognized by UGC and Bar Council of India; enrolled with Bar Council as an Advocate; minimum 2 years of experience after enrollment.
  • Manager – Technical (Civil) (Grade B): Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (minimum 60% marks; 55% for SC/ST where applicable); minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Manager – Technical (Electrical) (Grade B): Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (minimum 60% marks; 55% for SC/ST where applicable); minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Assistant Manager – Rajbhasha (Grade A): Eligible Master’s degree combinations in Hindi/English/Hindi Translation/Sanskrit/Economics/Commerce with required language subjects and/or PG diploma in translation as applicable; knowledge of bilingual word processing.
  • Assistant Manager – Protocol and Security (Grade A): Ex-Serviceman officer with minimum 10 years of commissioned service (5 years for PwBD candidates) in Army/Navy/Air Force with a valid Ex-Serviceman Identity Card; typically within the age band of 25–40 years (as per notified criteria).
