This role is intended for qualified educators and researchers who can contribute to teacher education programs and support academic excellence in B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) disciplines. The Assistant Professor (B.Ed.) will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, curriculum delivery, and participating in academic and institutional activities as per applicable norms.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching for B.Ed. program courses (as per assigned specialization/subject area).
- Develop lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments aligned with academic standards.
- Mentor and guide student-teachers in pedagogical practices, classroom management, and professional ethics.
- Support practicum, internship supervision, and school-based teaching practice where applicable.
- Participate in curriculum development, academic planning, and departmental activities.
- Engage in research, publication, seminars, workshops, and other scholarly activities as per institutional expectations.
- Contribute to examination duties, evaluation, and academic administration.
- Maintain accurate academic records and comply with institutional and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Educational Qualification (as applicable):
- Post Graduation Degree in Science / Mathematics / Social Science / Commerce / Language (B.Ed. subjects) with minimum 55% marks, and M.Ed. with 55% marks; OR
- Post Graduation Degree in Sociology with 55% marks with B.Ed. / B.L.Ed. / equivalent degree, and Ph.D. in Sociology.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of pedagogy and teacher education frameworks.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to teach diverse learners.
- Ability to contribute to research and academic development activities.
- Willingness to participate in institutional responsibilities, committees, and academic events.

- Maximum Age: 62 years (as per UPESSC rules).
