Bihar SHSB invites applications from qualified AYUSH practitioners to support public health service delivery across Bihar. This role focuses on providing evidence-based AYUSH clinical care, supporting preventive and promotive health programs, and ensuring high standards of patient safety, documentation, and compliance within the state health system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient and/or primary care services as an Ayush Medical Officer in your respective discipline (Ayurvedic / Homoeopathic / Unani).
  • Conduct patient assessment, diagnosis (as per system of medicine), treatment planning, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, prescriptions, and reports in accordance with applicable government/SHSB guidelines.
  • Support implementation of public health programs, community outreach, and health awareness initiatives as assigned.
  • Coordinate with facility staff and program teams to ensure continuity of care and appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, ethical standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and monitoring activities; assist in document verification and compliance processes.
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities and reporting as required by the department.

Requirements

Educational Qualification (Discipline-wise)

  • Ayush Doctor (Ayurvedic): B.A.M.S. degree from a recognized university/institution included in the schedule of the Central Council of Indian Medicine (New Delhi); compulsory rotatory internship completed; registration with the Bihar State Council of Ayurvedic and Unani Medicines, Patna.
  • Ayush Doctor (Homoeopathic): B.H.M.S. degree from a recognized university/institution included in the schedule of the Central Council of Homoeopathy (New Delhi); compulsory rotatory internship completed; registration with the Bihar State Council of Homoeopathic Medicine, Patna.
  • Ayush Doctor (Unani): B.U.M.S. degree from a recognized university/institution included in the schedule of the Central Council of Indian Medicine (New Delhi); compulsory rotatory internship completed; registration with the Bihar State Council of Ayurvedic and Unani Medicines, Patna.

Age Limit (as on 01 August 2024)

  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum (Male UR/EWS): 37 years
  • Maximum (Female UR/EWS): 40 years
  • Maximum (Male/Female BC/MBC): 40 years
  • Maximum (Male/Female SC/ST): 42 years
  • Age relaxation as per Bihar SHSB recruitment rules.
