Position: Junior Chemist

Organization: Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC)

RPSC invites applications for the post of Junior Chemist. This role supports laboratory and analytical operations by conducting chemical testing, preparing reports, and ensuring adherence to approved methods and quality standards. The position is suited for candidates with a strong foundation in chemistry and an understanding of relevant safety and compliance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis using standard laboratory procedures.
  • Prepare, standardize, and handle chemical reagents, solutions, and samples as per approved protocols.
  • Operate, maintain, and perform routine checks/calibration support for laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Record observations, calculations, and results accurately in laboratory registers and/or digital systems.
  • Prepare test reports and assist in interpretation of analytical results under established guidelines.
  • Follow laboratory safety practices, chemical handling procedures, and waste disposal norms.
  • Support internal quality checks and assist in ensuring compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate with team members and supervisors for sample prioritization, turnaround times, and documentation.
  • Assist during audits/inspections by maintaining organized documentation and traceability of results.

Requirements

  • Education: M.Sc. in Chemistry with Second Class marks from a recognized university/college.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of Rajasthani culture.
  • Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles, laboratory practices, and documentation.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in calculations, and ability to follow written procedures.
  • Good communication skills for reporting results and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment with appropriate safety compliance.
