Position: Staff Tutor (Nursing)
Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Staff Tutor (Nursing) to support the academic and clinical development of nursing students through classroom instruction, skills lab training, clinical supervision, and curriculum support. This role is ideal for a nursing professional with strong teaching aptitude, proven clinical experience, and a commitment to high-quality nursing education.
Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom lectures and facilitate discussions aligned with the nursing curriculum.
- Plan and conduct skills lab demonstrations, simulations, and assessments to build clinical competencies.
- Supervise and mentor students during clinical postings; ensure safe practice and adherence to clinical standards.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, question banks, and evaluation tools (tests, assignments, OSCE/OSPE).
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback and academic counseling.
- Maintain academic and clinical records, attendance, internal assessment documentation, and training logs.
- Support curriculum implementation, academic audits, and quality improvement initiatives in nursing education.
- Participate in faculty meetings, training programs, workshops, and institutional events.
- Promote professional ethics, patient safety, and evidence-based practice among students.
- Coordinate with clinical sites, hospital staff, and administration to ensure effective learning experiences.
Requirements
- Educational Qualification: M.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Nursing (Basic/Post Basic), or Diploma in Nursing Education and Administration (D.N.E.A) from a recognized institution approved by the Indian Nursing Council or the relevant State Health Department.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience in the nursing field with supporting certificates.
- Registration: Active registration with the Bihar Nurses Registration Council, Patna (or ability to obtain/transfer as applicable based on employer policy).
- Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to teach, mentor, and evaluate learners.
- Working knowledge of clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and nursing procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation, assessments, and digital learning tools.
- Preferred: Prior teaching or preceptorship experience, exposure to CBT-based assessments, or participation in academic quality initiatives.
