Position: Field Assistant (Agriculture)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and field-ready Field Assistant to support agriculture and field operations through on-ground data collection, farmer/stakeholder coordination, and implementation support for assigned programs. This role requires regular travel to field locations, accurate record-keeping, and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits to support agriculture-related activities, surveys, and inspections as assigned.
- Collect, verify, and record field data (crop status, inputs, soil/irrigation observations, beneficiary details, etc.) with accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in implementation of departmental/program activities, including awareness drives and stakeholder coordination.
- Support distribution/verification activities where applicable (materials, inputs, documents) and maintain proper logs.
- Prepare field reports, daily/weekly updates, and documentation as required by supervisors.
- Coordinate with farmers, local bodies, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of field plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of records, including any examination/assessment or administrative documentation if applicable.
- Follow safety, compliance, and operational guidelines during field movement and site work.
Requirements
- Education: Intermediate (10+2) or Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized institute/board.
- Comfortable with extensive fieldwork and travel within assigned regions.
- Basic proficiency in record-keeping and report preparation; ability to use mobile/online tools for data entry is preferred.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with farmers and local stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to follow instructions and processes.
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively with teams.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in agriculture field surveys, extension work, or community programs.
- Familiarity with basic agricultural practices, seasonal crop cycles, and field measurement/observation methods.
- Knowledge of local language(s) and regional context is an advantage.
