The Delhi High Court invites applications for the position of Chauffeur (Driver). This role supports the Court’s day-to-day operations by providing safe, punctual, and professional driving services for authorized officials, along with basic vehicle upkeep and compliance with all applicable rules and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Drive assigned vehicles safely and responsibly for official duties, ensuring punctuality and route planning as required.
  • Maintain strict compliance with traffic laws, court protocols, and instructions issued by authorized officials.
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness and basic upkeep (interior/exterior), including routine checks of fuel, oil, coolant, tire pressure, lights, and brakes.
  • Coordinate timely servicing, repairs, pollution checks, and other statutory compliances; report faults immediately.
  • Maintain vehicle-related documents such as registration, insurance, permits, logbooks, and duty rosters as directed.
  • Assist with safe handling of official files/materials during transit when assigned, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Support administrative tasks related to transportation operations, including trip logs and reporting.
  • Follow security instructions and cooperate with screening/entry protocols at court premises and other official locations.

Requirements

  • Valid driving license for light motor vehicles (and any other category as required by the recruiting authority).
  • Demonstrated experience in professional driving (government/PSU/institutional driving experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Delhi/NCR routes and ability to use navigation tools when permitted.
  • Good understanding of traffic rules, defensive driving practices, and passenger safety.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality while handling official schedules and travel.
  • Physically fit for driving duties, including long hours and shift-based work as per roster.
  • Basic communication skills and a courteous, service-oriented demeanor.
  • Willingness to undergo background verification and medical examination as per recruitment norms.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience maintaining trip logs and vehicle documentation accurately.
  • Basic troubleshooting ability for common vehicle issues and preventive maintenance awareness.
  • Prior experience driving senior officials and following formal protocol.
