Position: Junior Engineer (JE)

RSMSSB invites applications for the position of Junior Engineer (JE) to support state infrastructure and public works through technical planning, execution, supervision, and maintenance activities. This role is ideal for diploma/degree-qualified engineering professionals who are detail-oriented, field-ready, and committed to public service delivery.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, estimation, and execution of engineering works as per departmental standards and specifications.
Prepare and review technical drawings, measurements, and quantity take-offs; support preparation of BOQs and cost estimates.
Supervise on-site construction/maintenance activities, ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to timelines.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams for smooth project execution and issue resolution.
Maintain site records, measurement books, progress reports, and related technical documentation.
Support inspection, testing, and commissioning activities; report defects and recommend corrective actions.
Assist senior engineers in project monitoring, audits, and compliance with applicable rules and procedures.
Handle citizen/service requests and ensure timely resolution within the scope of assigned work.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Engineering (discipline as applicable to the JE post such as Civil/Mechanical/Electrical or relevant stream) from a recognized institute/university.
Knowledge of basic engineering standards, measurement practices, and construction/material quality principles.
Working familiarity with technical documentation, estimation, and reporting.
Ability to work in field conditions and travel to project sites as required.
Strong communication skills for coordination with stakeholders and preparation of clear reports.
Basic computer proficiency (e.g., office tools); knowledge of CAD tools is an advantage where relevant.
