Position: SSC Stenographer (Grade C & Grade D)

Overview: We are seeking detail-oriented, disciplined, and highly confidential professionals for the role of Stenographer (Grade C & Grade D). In this position, you will provide high-quality stenography and administrative support to officers and departments, ensuring accurate documentation, timely correspondence, and smooth day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Take dictation in shorthand and transcribe accurately within required timelines.
  • Prepare, format, and proofread official documents, letters, notes, circulars, and reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, records, and communications.
  • Manage schedules, meetings, and official appointments; coordinate logistics as needed.
  • Handle incoming/outgoing correspondence, emails, and file movement as per office procedures.
  • Maintain proper record-keeping, filing systems (physical and digital), and document indexing.
  • Assist in drafting routine communications and maintaining minutes of meetings when required.
  • Support general office administration, including coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Operate standard office equipment and software tools for documentation and communication.

Requirements

  • Eligibility as per SSC norms for Stenographer Grade C/Grade D (educational qualification, age criteria, and other conditions as applicable).
  • Proficiency in stenography (shorthand) and transcription with strong accuracy.
  • Good command of English and/or Hindi (as required by posting), including grammar and professional drafting.
  • Working knowledge of computers and office productivity tools (typing, document formatting, email).
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • High integrity with demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Professional communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in government/PSU/large institutional office environments.
  • Familiarity with official noting/drafting practices and record management procedures.
  • Fast, accurate typing and strong document formatting skills.
