Assistant Accountant

Position: Assistant Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and integrity-driven Assistant Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with reporting and compliance activities. This role is ideal for candidates who are comfortable working with large datasets, following defined processes, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining books of accounts, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Support preparation and processing of invoices, payments, and receipts in line with internal controls.
  • Perform bank, vendor, and account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Help compile financial statements, MIS reports, and audit-ready documentation as required.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of vouchers, bills, and supporting records.
  • Coordinate with other departments to validate financial data and ensure accurate cost allocation.
  • Support compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audit queries by providing required data and clarifications.
  • Handle other accounting and administrative tasks assigned by the Finance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance operations, or similar roles (freshers with strong fundamentals may apply where applicable).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables) and comfort working with accounting/ERP systems.
  • High attention to detail, strong numerical ability, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, follow processes, and maintain confidentiality of financial data.
  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams.
  • Integrity, reliability, and a professional approach to compliance and controls.
