Position: Agriculture Supervisor
We are seeking a detail-oriented and field-ready Agriculture Supervisor to support agricultural program execution, guide field activities, and help ensure effective implementation of best practices across assigned areas. This role involves coordination with farmers/field staff, monitoring crop and soil practices, maintaining accurate records, and supporting outreach and training initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day agricultural field operations within the assigned region.
- Monitor crop production activities, including sowing, irrigation, nutrient management, and pest/disease control, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support implementation of agricultural schemes, demonstrations, and extension activities.
- Conduct field visits, collect observations, and prepare reports on crop conditions, productivity, and compliance with recommended practices.
- Coordinate with farmers, field workers, and local stakeholders to ensure timely completion of planned activities.
- Maintain records related to field inspections, inputs distribution (if applicable), attendance, and progress tracking.
- Assist in organizing training sessions, awareness programs, and community meetings on improved agricultural methods.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and organizational guidelines during field operations.
- Support data collection for surveys and seasonal assessments and contribute to documentation and audit readiness.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, Soil Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Working knowledge of crop husbandry, integrated pest management (IPM), soil health practices, and irrigation methods.
- Ability to conduct field supervision, inspections, and basic data gathering with accuracy and integrity.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with diverse stakeholders, including farmers and field teams.
- Comfortable working outdoors and traveling extensively within the assigned area.
- Basic proficiency with recordkeeping tools (spreadsheets, mobile data collection apps, or similar systems) is preferred.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Valid two-wheeler/four-wheeler license may be preferred depending on field coverage needs.
