Position Overview

As a Sub Inspector (SI), you will support law enforcement operations including investigation, patrol supervision, incident response, documentation, and coordination with senior officers. The role demands integrity, physical fitness, sound judgment, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary inquiries and investigations; prepare case diaries and related reports.
  • Supervise field staff during patrols, checkpoints, crowd-control duties, and emergency response.
  • Maintain law and order; respond to incidents and coordinate with local administration as required.
  • Collect evidence, record statements, and ensure proper documentation as per legal procedures.
  • Assist in implementing security plans, public safety initiatives, and special operations.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies, ethics, and operational protocols.

Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • Must hold a Graduation (Bachelor’s) degree from a recognized university/institution in India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
  • It is mandatory to upload the graduation mark sheet. If the degree certificate is unavailable, upload a provisional degree; if that is also unavailable, upload all relevant mark sheets.
  • During document verification and physical standard test, candidates must present the original degree/certificate along with mark sheets.

Age Limit (As on 01 July 2025)

  • Minimum: 21 Years
  • Maximum: 28 Years
  • Age relaxation applicable as per UP Police SI Recruitment Rules.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory)

  • NIELIT (DOEACC) “O” Level or equivalent recognized computer certification
  • Minimum 2 years service in the Territorial Army
  • NCC “B” Certificate

Physical Standards

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Male Candidates

  • UR/OBC/SC: Height 168 cm; Chest 79–84 cm
  • ST: Height 160 cm; Chest 77–82 cm

Female Candidates

  • UR/OBC/SC: Height 152 cm; Minimum weight 40 kg
  • ST: Height 147 cm; Minimum weight 40 kg

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Male: 4.8 km race in 28 minutes
  • Female: 2.4 km race in 16 minutes
