Position: Assistant Store Keeper (Grade III)
Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Store Keeper (Grade III) to support day-to-day store and inventory operations, maintain accurate stock records, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely receipt, storage, and issuance of materials. This role requires strong organizational skills, basic documentation discipline, and proficiency in Hindi or English typing as applicable.
Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and record incoming materials, supplies, and equipment against invoices/challans and internal documentation.
- Maintain stock registers and inventory records (manual and/or computerized) with accuracy and timeliness.
- Issue materials as per authorized requisitions and maintain proper issue/return documentation.
- Ensure correct storage, labeling, and arrangement of items to support easy identification and retrieval.
- Assist in periodic stock counts, reconciliations, and reporting of shortages/excess/obsolete items.
- Support compliance with storekeeping procedures, audit requirements, and record retention standards.
- Coordinate with procurement, accounts, and user departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth material flow.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and basic security practices within the store area.
- Prepare routine reports, statements, and summaries as required by supervisors.
Requirements
- Completion of 12th Class / Intermediate from a recognized board.
- Typing proficiency: Hindi typing at 25 WPM or English typing at 30 WPM.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with records, forms, and registers.
- Basic computer literacy is preferred (data entry, document handling, and record maintenance).
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain confidentiality of records.
- Good communication and coordination skills for working with multiple departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in stores, inventory, warehousing, or record-keeping (government or private sector).
- Familiarity with inventory audits, stock reconciliation, and basic reporting.
- Comfort working in structured environments with compliance and documentation standards.
