Position: Anganwadi Helper

Overview: We are seeking dedicated and community-oriented Anganwadi Helpers to support the effective functioning of Anganwadi Centres and contribute to the delivery of essential services for children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. This role focuses on assisting Anganwadi Workers in day-to-day centre operations, supporting nutrition and early childhood activities, and helping maintain records and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Anganwadi Worker in daily operations of the Anganwadi Centre.
  • Support distribution of supplementary nutrition as per program guidelines.
  • Help with basic pre-school activities and engagement for children, including organizing learning/play materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the centre premises, including safe handling and storage of supplies.
  • Support mobilization of beneficiaries for health days, immunization drives, and community awareness activities.
  • Assist in maintaining basic registers and documentation as directed (attendance, nutrition distribution, inventory, etc.).
  • Coordinate with local community members to encourage participation in Anganwadi services.
  • Help ensure timely communication of beneficiary needs to the Anganwadi Worker (e.g., health referrals, nutrition concerns).
  • Follow safety, hygiene, and child protection practices at all times.

Requirements

  • Commitment to community service and willingness to work with children and families.
  • Basic literacy and ability to follow instructions and maintain simple records (as applicable to local guidelines).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Anganwadi staff and local stakeholders.
  • Physically able to support routine centre tasks (cleaning, organizing materials, assisting in distribution).
  • Good communication skills and respectful behavior with beneficiaries.
  • Local residency may be preferred/required depending on program rules.
  • Any additional eligibility criteria (age, education, documentation) will be as per applicable government/ICDS guidelines and local recruitment notifications.
