Position: MP Rural AEO (Agriculture Extension Officer)

Overview: We are inviting applications for the role of Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) to support rural agricultural development initiatives across Madhya Pradesh. The AEO will work closely with farmers, local institutions, and program stakeholders to improve adoption of best practices, strengthen productivity, and support implementation of government agriculture schemes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits to assess crop conditions, farmer needs, and local agronomic challenges.
- Provide on-ground advisory and extension services on crop planning, soil health, nutrient management, irrigation, and pest/disease control.
- Support implementation of agriculture-related government schemes and programs at the village/block level.
- Organize and facilitate farmer trainings, demonstrations, and awareness camps to promote improved practices and technologies.
- Coordinate with local bodies, cooperatives, FPOs/SHGs, and other stakeholders for effective outreach.
- Maintain records, reports, and program documentation including field observations, beneficiary details, and activity outcomes.
- Assist in data collection and verification for monitoring, evaluation, and compliance requirements.
- Promote sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture practices, including integrated nutrient and pest management.
- Ensure timely communication of advisories and departmental instructions to farmers and local partners.
Requirements
- Relevant educational qualification in Agriculture or allied disciplines (as per the official MP Rural AEO recruitment notification).
- Understanding of agronomy, crop management, and rural extension methods.
- Comfortable with extensive fieldwork and travel within assigned areas.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry, reporting, and use of online portals.
- Strong communication skills in Hindi; ability to engage effectively with rural communities.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently in field conditions.
- Any required certifications/registrations and eligibility criteria will be applicable as per the official notification.
