Responsibilities
Responsibilities vary by post and department. Typical duties may include:
- Supporting day-to-day railway operations, customer service, and passenger facilitation.
- Managing station-level coordination and operational processes (for Station Master/Traffic roles).
- Assisting in commercial activities including ticketing, passenger guidance, and revenue-related tasks.
- Handling goods/train operations coordination and related documentation (for Goods Train Manager).
- Performing clerical and accounts support functions, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
- Executing computer-based typing and documentation work where applicable (Clerk/Typist/Accounts roles).
- Following safety, compliance, and procedural guidelines as mandated by Indian Railways.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university/college.
- Typing: Typing proficiency in English/Hindi on computer is essential for typist-related posts (as applicable).
- Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 33 years
- Age relaxation as per RRB rules.
