SSB is inviting applications for the post of Assistant Commandant (Communication). This role is suited for engineering graduates in relevant disciplines who are interested in serving in a leadership position with responsibilities spanning communication systems, operational readiness, and coordination across units.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage communication operations and ensure uninterrupted availability of communication networks and equipment.
- Plan, deploy, operate, and maintain communication systems in varied operational environments.
- Oversee installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and performance monitoring of communication infrastructure.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support field operations and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Maintain documentation, logs, and reports related to equipment status, repairs, and operational readiness.
- Support training and guidance of personnel on communication protocols, equipment handling, and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, procedures, and organizational policies.
Requirements
- Education: Engineering Degree in a related field (as per eligibility criteria in the official notification).
- Age Limit (as on 01 October 2023): Minimum 18 years, Maximum 35 years (upper age relaxation as per rules).
- Ability to work in diverse locations and challenging conditions across India.
- Strong technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Leadership mindset with effective communication and coordination skills.
