Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is seeking motivated and technically strong candidates for the role of Assistant Engineer (Trainee) – Civil. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to critical power-sector infrastructure through planning, execution, and maintenance of civil works across utility projects.
As an AE (Civil) Trainee, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to support construction, renovation, and upkeep of civil structures associated with power generation, transmission, and distribution facilities, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with applicable standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, design review, estimation, and execution of civil engineering works related to utility infrastructure (buildings, foundations, roads, drains, boundary walls, and associated structures).
- Prepare and review technical documents including drawings, BOQs, specifications, measurement books, and progress reports.
- Support tendering and procurement processes by helping draft technical requirements, evaluating contractor submissions, and coordinating with vendors/contractors.
- Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to approved drawings, technical specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections, supervise testing of materials, and ensure proper documentation for quality control and assurance.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (electrical, mechanical, operations, safety) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes/standards, statutory requirements, and safety practices at project sites.
- Support maintenance planning for civil assets and recommend corrective/preventive actions based on inspections.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals including RCC/steel basics, surveying, estimation, and construction practices.
- Working knowledge of relevant IS codes, quality standards, and site safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with common office tools; familiarity with CAD tools is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in field conditions as required.
