Position Summary
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) is seeking an Admissions & Outreach Coordinator to support end-to-end admissions operations and applicant engagement for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. This role focuses on coordinating application workflows, maintaining accurate applicant records, supporting counselling/admissions events, and ensuring timely communication with prospective students.
This is a detail-oriented, service-driven position that works closely with the Admissions Office, academic departments, and student services to deliver a smooth and compliant admissions experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the admissions lifecycle including application receipt, verification, shortlisting, and offer/seat allocation support as per institutional guidelines.
- Maintain and validate applicant data in admissions systems, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Support document verification processes and track pending items, discrepancies, and resolution timelines.
- Respond to applicant queries via email/phone/helpdesk; provide accurate guidance on eligibility, required documents, deadlines, and next steps.
- Assist in planning and executing admissions-related events such as counselling sessions, orientation, webinars, campus visits, and outreach drives.
- Prepare and publish admissions communications (notices, FAQs, instructions) in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Generate routine reports and dashboards (applications received, verification status, conversion metrics, category-wise summaries) for leadership review.
- Coordinate with IT and web teams to ensure application portals and admissions pages are current and functioning as intended.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, reservation/category policies, and institutional processes.
- Support audit readiness by maintaining structured records and documentation trails.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; Master’s degree is a plus.
- 1–3 years of experience in admissions, academic administration, student services, or a comparable operations role (freshers with strong administrative skills may be considered).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume data and documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace (Excel/Sheets for reporting is essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort handling applicant-facing interactions.
- Ability to coordinate across teams and manage multiple deadlines during peak admission cycles.
- High integrity and discretion when handling personal and academic records.
- Comfort working with online portals, forms, and basic troubleshooting/escalation processes.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with admissions ERPs/CRMs, ticketing/helpdesk tools, or student information systems.
- Basic data analysis and reporting skills (pivot tables, dashboards, or similar).
- Understanding of Indian higher-education admissions processes and counselling workflows.
