Key Responsibilities
- Maintain security and discipline within the jail premises and assigned areas.
- Supervise inmate movement, attendance, and routine activities as per institutional protocols.
- Assist in searches, monitoring, and prevention of prohibited items and activities.
- Support safe custody procedures including escort duties as assigned.
- Report incidents, irregularities, and safety concerns to senior officers promptly.
- Maintain records/logs and assist with administrative tasks as required.
- Follow all applicable rules, standing orders, and instructions issued by competent authorities.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Education (Warder/Matron): Passed Class 12th examination from a recognized board.
- Punjabi Requirement: Candidate must have passed Punjabi as an elective subject in Class 10th.
- Age Limit (as on 01 January 2024): Minimum 18 years, Maximum 27 years (age relaxation as per rules).
- Selection Process: Written Exam, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, Medical Examination.
- Candidates must be medically fit and capable of meeting the physical standards and efficiency requirements prescribed for the post.
