Responsibilities

• Operate and support BSF Water Wing vessels/boats as per assigned role (crew, master, or engine driver).
• Perform navigation, seamanship, and boat handling duties (for Master/Crew roles).
• Operate, monitor, and maintain marine engines and related systems (for Engine Driver roles).
• Conduct routine checks, basic maintenance, and workshop-related tasks (for Workshop posts).
• Comply with safety procedures, swimming readiness, and operational protocols.
• Participate in physical tests, skill tests, and other selection stages as required.

Requirements

• Age Limit (as on 01 July 2024):
  • Sub Inspector Posts: 20 to 25 years
  • Constable / Head Constable Posts: 22 to 28 years
  • Age Relaxation: As per government/BSF rules
• Educational & Technical Eligibility (post-wise):
  • Constable Crew (46): Class 10 pass; 1 year experience operating boats below 265 HP; should know swimming.
  • Head Constable Master (35): Class 10 pass.
  • Head Constable Engine Driver (57): Class 10 pass; 2nd Class Engine Driver Certificate.
  • Head Constable (Workshop) (13): Class 10 pass; ITI/NCVT certificate in relevant trade/branch.
  • SI Master (07): Class 12 pass; 2nd Class Master Certificate issued by Central/State Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department.
  • SI Engine Driver (04): Class 12 pass; 1st Class Engine Driver Certificate issued by Central/State Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department.

Physical Eligibility (Tentative)

• Male: Height 165 cm; Chest 75-80 cm; 1 Mile Race 8 minutes; High Jump 3 ft 6 in; Long Jump 11 ft
• Male (ST): Height 160 cm; Chest 73-78 cm; 1 Mile Race 8 minutes; High Jump 3 ft 6 in; Long Jump 11 ft

Selection Process

• Written Exam
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST)
• Skill Test (as per post requirement)
• Document Verification
• Medical Examination
