Position: Sub Inspector (SI), Railway Protection Force (RPF)

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is seeking motivated, disciplined, and service-oriented candidates for the role of Sub Inspector (SI). This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of railway passengers, railway property, and railway operations. Candidates must be prepared to meet both professional standards and physical fitness requirements, including PST/PET and other selection stages as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain law, order, and security within railway premises and trains in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.
  • Protect railway property and prevent theft, vandalism, and other security incidents.
  • Assist passengers by responding to safety concerns, emergencies, and incidents on stations and trains.
  • Conduct patrols, inspections, and security checks as assigned.
  • Support investigations, documentation, and reporting related to security incidents.
  • Coordinate with railway authorities and other law enforcement agencies when required.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental protocols, operational guidelines, and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university in India.
  • Age Limit (as per referenced notification): 20–28 years (age relaxations may apply as per government rules and official notification).
  • Physical Fitness: Must be able to qualify in prescribed physical standards and tests (PST/PET/PMT) as per official criteria.
  • Other: Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays; readiness for field duty and postings as per organizational requirements.

  • Computer Based Test (CBT) / Examination (offline/online as applicable)
  • Physical Standard Test (PST)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
  • Document Verification and other stages as per official recruitment rules
