Position: Junior Clerk

The Municipal Corporation invites applications for the position of Junior Clerk. This role supports day-to-day administrative and clerical operations across municipal departments, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely citizen service support, and smooth office coordination.
Responsibilities
- Maintain files, registers, and office records (physical and digital) in accordance with municipal procedures.
- Assist in drafting routine correspondence, notices, letters, and internal memos.
- Perform data entry, document verification, and compilation of reports/statements as required.
- Support front-office/citizen service operations, including application intake and status updates.
- Coordinate with departments for movement of files, approvals, and follow-ups.
- Handle basic office administration tasks such as scheduling, photocopying, scanning, and dispatch/receipt tracking.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of municipal documents and citizen information.
- Support audit/compliance documentation and help prepare records for inspections when required.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate or equivalent qualification from a recognized board/university (as per municipal recruitment rules).
- Typing/Data Entry: Proficiency in computer operations and typing (Gujarati/Hindi/English as applicable).
- Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) and basic internet/email usage.
- Accuracy: Strong attention to detail for record maintenance and data handling.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordination and citizen-facing support.
- Eligibility: Must meet age, domicile, and other eligibility criteria as notified by the Municipal Corporation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior clerical/administrative experience in government, PSU, or large organizations.
- Experience with e-governance portals, document management systems, or municipal service workflows.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume public service environment.
