Role Overview
As an Engineering Executive Trainee, you will join a cohort-based training program and work under the guidance of experienced technical leaders. You will contribute to plant operations, maintenance, engineering, project execution, and performance improvement initiatives, depending on your discipline and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Participate in structured technical training and rotational assignments across relevant functions.
- Support day-to-day engineering activities in operations, maintenance, and reliability (as applicable).
- Assist in monitoring equipment performance, identifying issues, and supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Contribute to preventive and predictive maintenance planning and execution support.
- Help prepare technical documentation, reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compliance records.
- Support implementation of safety practices, statutory compliance, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and operations) to deliver project and plant objectives.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to efficiency, availability, emissions, and cost optimization.
- Coordinate with vendors/contractors under supervision for inspections, repairs, and service activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics/Instrumentation, Civil, or other applicable branches as per hiring needs).
- Strong fundamentals in core engineering concepts and willingness to learn in a high-safety, high-reliability environment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation (preferred).
- Working knowledge of MS Office; familiarity with CMMS/ERP tools (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in teams across functions and sites.
- Willingness to work in shifts and/or at plant/project locations as required.
- High commitment to safety, compliance, and ethical conduct.
Preferred Skills
- Internship/project experience in power plants, heavy industry, utilities, or large infrastructure projects.
- Basic understanding of power generation systems, rotating equipment, electrical systems, control & instrumentation, or civil works (discipline-dependent).
- Analytical mindset with interest in reliability engineering, performance monitoring, and process improvement.
