Position: Forest Guard (Himachal Pradesh Forest Department)

We are seeking motivated and disciplined candidates for the role of Forest Guard. This position supports forest protection, wildlife conservation, and field-based enforcement activities. Responsibilities

Patrol assigned forest beats/areas to help prevent illegal activities such as poaching, illicit felling, encroachment, and forest fires.
Assist in forest protection operations, including reporting incidents and supporting enforcement actions as per departmental procedures.
Support wildlife conservation initiatives and help monitor habitat conditions and human-wildlife interaction risks.
Participate in forest fire prevention and response activities, including early reporting, first-response support, and awareness drives.
Assist in plantation, nursery, and afforestation activities, including maintenance of plantations and related field records.
Maintain basic field registers/logs, submit reports to senior officials, and follow instructions issued by Range/Beat officers.
Engage with local communities for awareness on conservation, forest rules, and fire prevention (as directed).
Perform other duties assigned by the department consistent with the nature of the role.

Requirements

Ability to work in outdoor and rugged terrain conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Basic communication skills and willingness to follow chain-of-command and departmental protocols.
Integrity, alertness, and a strong sense of responsibility toward public service and conservation.
Comfort with shift/field duty, including early mornings, evenings, and emergency deployments (e.g., fire season).
