Position: Head Constable (Dresser) – Veterinary
Overview: We are seeking disciplined and service-oriented professionals for the role of Head Constable (Dresser) – Veterinary. This position supports veterinary healthcare operations, assisting in the treatment, care, and management of animals as part of an organized medical/field unit environment. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary officers and staff in routine clinical procedures, first-aid, dressing, and basic treatment support.
- Perform wound care, bandaging, cleaning, and post-treatment monitoring as directed by authorized veterinary personnel.
- Support animal handling and restraint during examinations and procedures, ensuring safety and humane practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of veterinary work areas, equipment, and animal care spaces.
- Prepare, store, and manage veterinary supplies, dressings, and basic consumables; track inventory and report shortages.
- Support vaccination drives, deworming schedules, and preventive healthcare programs as assigned.
- Maintain basic records related to treatment support, supplies, and routine care activities.
- Follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and chain-of-command instructions.
- Coordinate with team members for field duties, shifting schedules, and operational requirements where applicable.
Requirements
- Relevant education and/or training in veterinary care support, animal husbandry, or a related discipline (as applicable to the recruiting organization’s eligibility criteria).
- Practical knowledge of basic veterinary dressing procedures, first-aid support, and hygiene standards.
- Ability to handle animals safely and calmly in clinical or field settings.
