Position: Staff Nurse

BTSC invites applications for the role of Staff Nurse to support patient care services across government healthcare facilities. The role involves delivering safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care, maintaining clinical documentation, assisting medical teams, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in wards/units, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; monitor patient response and report changes promptly.
- Maintain accurate nursing records, charts, and reports in line with hospital/department guidelines.
- Assist physicians and clinical teams during procedures and routine rounds.
- Ensure infection prevention and control practices, including safe handling of biomedical waste.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding care plans, medications, hygiene, nutrition, and follow-up instructions.
- Support emergency care and triage activities as per facility protocols.
- Operate and maintain basic clinical equipment; ensure readiness of supplies and consumables.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for continuity of care and patient discharge planning.
- Adhere to professional ethics, confidentiality, and applicable government/departmental rules.
Requirements
- Education: B.Sc. Nursing or Diploma/Certificate in Nursing from a recognized university/college.
- Registration: Valid registration with the State Nursing Council (as applicable).
- Age: Minimum 21 years; maximum age limits as per BTSC rules (category-wise relaxations applicable).
- Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as per duty rosters.
- Strong clinical skills, patient-first mindset, and effective communication abilities.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting (preferred).
