Position: Local Bank Officer (LBO) – Scale I
We are seeking customer-focused, detail-oriented banking professionals to join our retail banking network as Local Bank Officers (Scale I). This role is ideal for candidates who want to build a career in branch banking, customer acquisition, and relationship management while supporting day-to-day operations and compliance in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day branch banking activities, ensuring smooth service delivery and adherence to internal processes.
- Acquire and service customers for retail banking products (savings/current accounts, term deposits, loans, and digital banking services).
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships; understand financial needs and recommend suitable banking solutions.
- Support credit-related activities including preliminary assessment, documentation checks, and coordination for loan processing.
- Ensure KYC/AML compliance, customer due diligence, and accurate documentation as per regulatory guidelines.
- Handle customer queries, service requests, and complaint resolution within defined timelines.
- Promote digital channels and assist customers with onboarding and usage of online/mobile banking.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in audits, inspections, and periodic reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet branch targets for deposits, advances, and cross-sell products.
- Support cash/clearing and operational controls as assigned, ensuring risk mitigation and process discipline.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Language proficiency: Proficiency in the local/regional language relevant to the state/region of posting.
- Age criteria: Typically 20–30 years (age relaxation as per applicable rules/policy).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Working knowledge of basic banking operations, documentation, and compliance practices is preferred.
- Comfort with sales-oriented goals and relationship management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail and integrity.
- Proficiency with computers and standard office/banking systems.
