Join Indian Airforce invites applications for the Agniveer Vayu – Intake 01/2026 under the Agnipath scheme. Selected candidates will serve for a period of 4 years and receive structured training, pay progression, and post-service benefits including a Seva Nidhi package and skill certification.
Responsibilities
- Undergo military and trade-specific training as per Indian Airforce standards.
- Perform duties as assigned in operational, technical, administrative, and support roles based on trade allocation.
- Maintain high standards of discipline, physical fitness, and readiness.
- Comply with service rules, safety procedures, and medical/fitness requirements throughout engagement.
- Participate in periodic assessments, drills, and evaluations during the engagement period.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Age Limit: Candidates must be born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2008 (both dates inclusive). Minimum age: 17.5 years; maximum age: 21 years. Age relaxation as per recruitment rules.
- Educational Qualification (Science Subjects):
- 10+2 (Intermediate) with Mathematics, Physics, and English with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English; OR
- 3-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English in diploma course; OR
- 2-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects Physics and Math with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English.
- Educational Qualification (Other Than Science):
- 10+2 (Intermediate) with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English; OR
- 2-year Vocational Course with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

- Minimum Height:
- Male: 152.5 cm
- Female: 152 cm
- North East / Hilly Areas: 147 cm
- Lakshadweep: 150 cm
- Chest (Male): 77 cm with 5 cm expansion
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age
- Running:
- Male: 1.6 km in 7 minutes
- Female: 1.6 km in 8 minutes
- Strength/Endurance (as per PFT norms):
- Male: 10 push-ups (1 min), 10 sit-ups (1 min), 20 squats (1 min)
- Female: 10 sit-ups (1.5 min), 15 squats (1 min)

Pay & Service Benefits
Engagement Period: 4 years.
- Monthly Package (Indicative):
- Year 1: ₹30,000 (In-hand approx. ₹21,000; 30% fund ₹9,000)
- Year 2: ₹33,000 (In-hand approx. ₹23,100; 30% fund ₹9,900)
- Year 3: ₹36,500 (In-hand approx. ₹25,580; 30% fund ₹10,950)
- Year 4: ₹40,000 (In-hand approx. ₹28,000; 30% fund ₹12,000)
- Seva Nidhi: Approx. ₹10.04 lakh upon exit after 4 years (as per scheme norms).
- Life Insurance: Coverage of ₹48 lakh for the duration of engagement.
- Leave: Annual leave up to 30 days plus sick leave as per medical advice.
- Post-service advantages: Skill-set certificate issued by Indian Air Force; 10% reservation in recruitment for Assam Rifles/CAPF and preference in select State Police recruitments as per applicable policies.
