We are seeking qualified and service-oriented professionals for the role of Librarian under the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC). The Librarian will support academic and institutional learning by managing library resources, assisting users, maintaining catalogues, and ensuring smooth library operations in alignment with public service standards.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day library operations, including circulation, reference support, and user assistance.
Organize, classify, and catalogue books, journals, periodicals, and digital resources.
Maintain accurate records of acquisitions, inventory, and issue/return transactions.
Support students, faculty, and staff with research assistance and information retrieval.
Implement and follow library policies, including membership, borrowing rules, and resource usage guidelines.
Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders for procurement and subscription management.
Maintain reading rooms and ensure a conducive learning environment.
Assist in digitization initiatives and management of electronic resources where applicable.
Prepare periodic reports related to library usage, stock verification, and resource gaps.
Ensure compliance with departmental procedures and documentation requirements.

Requirements

Education: Master’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The degree must be completed on or before the final date of application submission.
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025): Minimum 21 years; Maximum 40 years (age relaxation as per applicable government rules).
Ability to manage library records and perform administrative tasks with accuracy and integrity.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support diverse user needs.
Basic computer proficiency and willingness to work with library systems and digital resources.
