Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a qualified Dental Hygienist to support clinical dental services through preventive care, patient education, and assistance with diagnostic and treatment procedures. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, adherence to infection-control protocols, and a patient-first approach.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dental prophylaxis (scaling, polishing) and other preventive procedures as permitted by applicable regulations.
  • Assist in oral health assessments, charting, and documentation of clinical findings.
  • Support diagnostic procedures, including preparing patients for examinations and assisting with dental radiographs where authorized.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, periodontal care, and preventive strategies.
  • Maintain strict infection prevention and control standards, including sterilization and operatory preparation.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of patient records, consent forms, and treatment notes in accordance with clinic policy.
  • Coordinate with dentists and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care delivery.
  • Manage clinical supplies and support inventory tracking to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with clinical, safety, and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene (or equivalent recognized qualification).
  • Registration with the UP State Dental Council (active/valid at the time of joining).
  • Strong understanding of chairside procedures, periodontal instrumentation, and preventive dentistry.
  • Knowledge of sterilization protocols, biomedical waste handling, and standard precautions.
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based clinical environment.
  • Comfort with documentation and basic computer use for recordkeeping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a dental clinic, hospital, or community oral health program.
  • Experience with dental radiography (as permitted) and familiarity with digital record systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high patient volumes while maintaining care quality.
