Position: Junior Basic Training (JBT) Primary Teacher

Samagra Shiksha Chandigarh (SSA), Chandigarh invites applications for the role of JBT Primary Teacher. The JBT Primary Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality primary education, supporting foundational literacy and numeracy, and creating an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment aligned with curriculum standards and school guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons for primary classes in line with prescribed curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Develop daily/weekly lesson plans, teaching aids, and classroom activities to support foundational learning.
- Assess student progress through classwork, assignments, periodic tests, and continuous evaluation practices.
- Maintain accurate student records including attendance, performance reports, and assessment documentation.
- Implement inclusive teaching practices to support diverse learning needs and ensure equitable participation.
- Manage classroom discipline positively and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues for academic planning, remedial support, and co-curricular activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and developmental needs.
- Participate in trainings, workshops, and professional development programs as required.
- Support school-level administrative and academic duties as assigned (e.g., exam invigilation, documentation, school events).
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in any stream.
- Professional Qualification: D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education).
- Eligibility Test: CTET (Primary Level) qualified.
- Age Limit: 21 to 37 years (as per applicable recruitment rules; relaxations as per government norms).
- Strong understanding of primary pedagogy, child development, and foundational learning strategies.
- Ability to design engaging classroom activities and use teaching-learning materials effectively.
- Good communication skills in classroom instruction and stakeholder coordination.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting is preferred.
- Willingness to comply with document verification, medical examination, and other selection formalities as applicable.
