Position: Technical Assistant (Group C)

Overview: We are seeking motivated and field-oriented Technical Assistants to support agriculture and allied sector programs through technical guidance, field implementation, data collection, and stakeholder coordination. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, or Agricultural Engineering who are comfortable working across diverse locations and collaborating with farmers, field staff, and administrative teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance for agriculture/horticulture/forestry initiatives, including field demonstrations and advisory support.
  • Conduct field visits to assess crop conditions, farm practices, input usage, and implementation progress.
  • Collect, verify, and maintain field data; prepare reports, summaries, and documentation for review by supervisors.
  • Support planning and execution of departmental schemes, awareness programs, and training sessions for beneficiaries.
  • Assist in soil, crop, and input-related observations and coordinate with laboratories/technical teams when required.
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders (farmers, producer groups, field staff, and vendors) to ensure timely execution of activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable guidelines, processes, and documentation standards.
  • Support audits/inspections by maintaining accurate records and responding to information requests.
  • Perform additional duties aligned with the role as assigned by the reporting officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Forestry OR B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural practices, cropping systems, and basic extension methodologies.
  • Ability to work in field conditions and travel to assigned locations as needed.
  • Working knowledge of data recording and reporting; comfort with basic computer applications (spreadsheets, documents).
  • Good communication skills in order to coordinate with beneficiaries and internal teams.
  • High attention to detail, integrity in documentation, and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Preferred: Prior internship/field experience in agriculture extension, rural development, or scheme implementation.
