Army Public School Teacher (PGT/TGT/PRT) – AWES

We are seeking passionate, qualified, and student-focused educators to join Army Public Schools under the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) ecosystem. Openings may be available across three teaching cadres:

  • PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) – Senior secondary level
  • TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) – Secondary level
  • PRT (Primary Teacher) – Primary level

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with prescribed curriculum and learning outcomes.
  • Assess student learning through tests, assignments, projects, and formative evaluation techniques.
  • Maintain accurate academic records, attendance, and student progress reports.
  • Support students’ holistic development through mentoring, classroom management, and value-based education.
  • Participate in school activities such as assemblies, events, clubs, house activities, and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching practices, share resources, and implement academic plans.
  • Use age-appropriate pedagogy and educational technology to enhance learning.
  • Uphold school policies, child safeguarding practices, and professional ethics.

Requirements

General Eligibility

  • Strong subject knowledge and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to manage classrooms, motivate learners, and create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Willingness to participate in assessments/selection processes as applicable (e.g., screening test, interview, teaching skills evaluation).

PGT (Minimum 50% marks as applicable for eligibility)

  • English: Master’s Degree in English + B.Ed.
  • Hindi: Master’s Degree in Hindi + B.Ed.
  • Mathematics: Master’s Degree in Mathematics + B.Ed.
  • History: Master’s Degree in History + B.Ed.
  • Geography: Master’s Degree in Geography + B.Ed.
  • Economics: Master’s Degree in Economics + B.Ed.
  • Political Science: Master’s Degree in Political Science + B.Ed.
  • Physics: Master’s Degree in Physics + B.Ed.
  • Chemistry: Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry + B.Ed.
  • Biology: Master’s Degree in Zoology + B.Ed.
  • Biotechnology: Master’s Degree in Biotechnology + B.Ed.
  • Psychology: Master’s Degree in Psychology + B.Ed.
  • Commerce: Master’s Degree in Commerce + B.Ed.
  • Computer Science / IT: BE/B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science/IT, or M.Sc. in Mathematics (as applicable) + teaching eligibility as per school norms.
  • Home Science: Master’s Degree in Home Science + B.Ed.
  • Physical Education: M.P.Ed.

TGT (Minimum 50% marks as applicable for eligibility)

  • English: Bachelor’s Degree in English + B.Ed.
  • Hindi: Bachelor’s Degree in Hindi + B.Ed.
  • Sanskrit: Bachelor’s Degree in Sanskrit + B.Ed.
  • History: Bachelor’s Degree in History + B.Ed.
  • Geography: Bachelor’s Degree in Geography + B.Ed.
  • Political Science: Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science + B.Ed.
  • Mathematics: Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics + B.Ed.
  • Physics: Bachelor’s Degree in Physics + B.Ed.
  • Chemistry: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry + B.Ed.
  • Biology: Bachelor’s Degree in Botany or Zoology + B.Ed.

PRT

  • Graduate with B.Ed., or a 2-year Diploma, or a 4-year Integrated Course (as applicable to primary teaching norms).

Age Criteria (Indicative)

  • Fresh candidates: Below 40 years (general); for NCR schools: TGT/PRT below 29 years and PGT below 36 years.
  • Experienced candidates: Below 57 years.
