Position: Nursing Officer (ESIC) – Recruitment through UPSC
We are seeking dedicated, patient-focused Nursing Officers to support high-quality clinical care across ESIC healthcare facilities. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to protocols.
- Monitor patient vitals and clinical status; promptly escalate concerns to physicians/senior nursing staff.
- Assist in clinical procedures, pre- and post-operative care, and emergency response as required.
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards, including sterilization and biomedical waste practices.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medication adherence, and post-discharge instructions.
- Maintain nursing records, shift handovers, and reports in accordance with hospital policies.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (doctors, lab, pharmacy, allied health) to ensure continuity of care.
- Support quality initiatives, audits, and compliance with statutory and accreditation requirements.
- Uphold patient confidentiality, dignity, and ethical practice standards at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification as prescribed by the recruiting authority for Nursing Officer roles (typically GNM or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution).
- Valid registration with the relevant State Nursing Council/Indian Nursing Council as applicable.
- Sound knowledge of clinical nursing practices, patient safety, and hospital protocols.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as per hospital requirements.
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and hospital information systems (where applicable).
