Responsibilities
- Represent the State in criminal proceedings before competent courts as assigned.
- Conduct prosecution, present evidence, examine and cross-examine witnesses, and argue matters in court.
- Review case files, police reports, charge sheets, and other legal documentation to assess prosecutorial strategy.
- Provide legal opinions and support to investigating agencies and government departments in matters related to prosecution.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and court procedures while conducting cases.
- Coordinate with law enforcement officials and other stakeholders to ensure effective case preparation and timely hearings.
- Maintain accurate records, case status updates, and documentation as required by departmental processes.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; mandatory for registration to practice in a court as an advocate.
- Additional Qualification: Certificate of computer operation from an institution recognized by the State Government.
- Age Limit (as on 01 August 2024):
- Minimum: 22 years
- Maximum: 35 years (UR/EWS – Male)
- Maximum: 37 years (BC-I/EBC-II – Male)
- Maximum: 38 years (UR/BC-I/EBC-II – Female)
- Maximum: 40 years (SC/ST – Male & Female)
- Age relaxation applicable as per JPSC rules.
- Ability to work in a high-accountability public service environment with strong ethics and integrity.
- Strong legal drafting, research, and courtroom communication skills.
