AIIMS invites eligible candidates to apply for the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET 6). Selected candidates may be considered for appointment as Nursing Officer across participating AIIMS institutions, subject to institute-wise vacancies, eligibility, and allocation rules.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care to patients across wards, ICUs, emergency units, and specialty departments.
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and document clinical observations accurately in patient records.
- Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders and established clinical protocols.
- Assist in clinical procedures, patient preparation, and post-procedure care while maintaining infection prevention practices.
- Coordinate with doctors, allied health staff, and support services to ensure continuity of care.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medication adherence, discharge instructions, and preventive health practices.
- Follow hospital policies for biomedical waste management, patient safety, incident reporting, and quality assurance.
- Maintain confidentiality, professional conduct, and compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and standards.
Requirements
- Eligibility criteria as prescribed in the official AIIMS NORCET 6 notification (education, registration, experience, and other conditions as applicable).
- Valid nursing qualification (e.g., B.Sc. Nursing / GNM or equivalent as per notification) from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the relevant Nursing Council (State/Indian Nursing Council) as required.
- Strong clinical fundamentals, patient-care skills, and ability to work in rotational shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Basic computer proficiency for hospital information systems and digital documentation.
- Good communication skills, empathy, teamwork, and ability to work in high-pressure clinical environments.
Selection Process
- Selection is based on performance in NORCET 6 (computer-based test / written examination) and subsequent processes as notified by AIIMS.
- Final appointment, institute allocation, and document verification will be as per AIIMS/participating institute rules.
