Admissions Counselor (SRM University Kancheepuram)

We are seeking an Admissions Counselor to support prospective students through the end-to-end admissions journey for SRM University, Kancheepuram. This role focuses on applicant guidance, application review support, coordination with internal stakeholders, and maintaining accurate admissions records while delivering a high-quality candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Guide prospective students and parents on programs, eligibility, application steps, timelines, and required documentation.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, chat, and in-person appointments; ensure timely follow-up and issue resolution.
  • Support application processing by verifying forms and documents for completeness and accuracy; coordinate corrections with applicants.
  • Coordinate with academic departments and admissions leadership to align applicant screening and communication.
  • Maintain accurate records in the admissions CRM/SIS, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal policies.
  • Assist in planning and executing admissions events (open houses, webinars, school visits, education fairs) and track leads.
  • Prepare routine reports on lead funnel, conversion metrics, and applicant status for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide clear information on fee payments, scholarships (where applicable), and enrollment steps while adhering to university guidelines.
  • Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to improve lead quality and candidate engagement.
  • Ensure all communications reflect institutional standards and maintain confidentiality of applicant data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in admissions, student services, counseling, education sales, or a related role.
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional regional language proficiency is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with CRMs, spreadsheets, and online application portals; strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, student-first approach with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends/extended hours during peak admissions cycles and events.
